The Malaysia Tourism Awards is the highest form of recognition by the Ministry of Tourism and Culture and Tourism Malaysia for industry players whose outstanding contributions have played a significant role in the success of Malaysia’s tourism industry.
Luxury Escapes General Manager, Blake Hutchison, travelled to Malaysia to accept the Best Foreign Tour Operator (Oceania) Award and said he was delighted to be recognised by Tourism Malaysia.
“To receive international recognition for our contribution to tourism in Malaysia is incredibly humbling and is a credit not only to the team at Luxury Escapes but to the incredible properties in Malaysia that partner with us to bring the world’s best holidays to our two million members,” Mr Hutchison.
“In the past year, we were proud to partner with brands such as St Regis, Shangri La, Le Meridien, Hyatt Regency, The Danna, The Datai, Renaissance Hotels, Sheraton and The Westin to deliver tens of thousands of incremental room nights to holidaymakers travelling in Malaysia.
“Importantly we also used Luxury Escapes’ unique channels, including its TV show, magazine, roadshow and incredible social media influence, to showcase Malaysia to millions of Australians.
“And, with Luxury Escapes’ recent expansion to Southeast Asia we’re very excited about helping grow the Malaysian tourism market even further in the year ahead.”
Malaysia’s Tourism and Culture Minister, Datuk Seri Mohamed Nazri Abdul Aziz, thanked Luxury Escapes and other industry leaders for their contribution to the nation's tourism industry.
"I am pleased to inform that we received a total of 665 local and international nominations this time,” he said. “Certainly, this exceeded our expectations.
"I know that your job was not an easy one. After a few years as the Minister, I am well-acquainted with our tourism industry players. I can attest that all of them deserve to be recognised for their collective efforts and passion towards the industry.”
The awards, held once every two years recognises and honours local and International tourism industry players for outstanding and innovative products and services.
